Install and uninstall a pre-built

The Itential Open Source Pre-Builts repository is no longer actively maintained. Those pre-builts have been certified up to Platform 2023.2, but can still be imported to Platform 6. We recommend transitioning to Projects for the best experience.

Follow these steps to install a pre-built.

Open Admin Essentials

Open Admin Essentials from the Home page or the Applications menu.

Open pre-builts

Select the Pre-Builts dropdown in the sidebar (left side of the screen).

Browse

Click Browse. A list of available pre-builts will populate on the left side of the screen.

Install

Select any pre-built and click Install. If the pre-built contains components that already exist on your system, you will be prompted to overwrite that content or cancel without overwriting.

If you are installing your first pre-built, you will also need to activate the Itential pre-builts group:

Navigate to Groups

After installing the pre-built, go to Authorization → Groups.

View inactive groups

Click View List, then select Show Inactive. The Itential Pre-Builts group should appear.

Activate the group

Click Edit Group under Actions, uncheck Inactive, and click Save.

Assign the group to a user

In the sidebar, select Users and click the user you wish to apply the Itential pre-built group to.

Add the group

Click Groups on the main view of the page, select Itential pre-builts, and click Save.

Uninstall a pre-built

Open Admin Essentials

Open Admin Essentials from the Home page or the Applications menu.

Open pre-builts

Select the pre-builts dropdown in the sidebar (left side of the screen).

Select the repository

Click the appropriate pre-built repository (e.g., @itentialopensource) dropdown in the sidebar.

Select the pre-built

A list of installed pre-builts will display. Select the pre-built you wish to uninstall.

Uninstall

On the Details View for the selected pre-built, click Uninstall.
