Search across all platform applications to find workflows, forms, templates, and other resources. System Search provides a unified interface for locating resources regardless of which application created them.

When to use System Search

Use System Search to find resources when:

  • You know the resource name but not which application contains it
  • You need to find all resources with a specific tag
  • You want to search across multiple applications at once
  • You’re looking for resources created by someone else

Access System Search

Open System Search from the dashboard or any application.

Click the hamburger icon (☰) at the top-left corner of the screen

Click System Search in the menu

View search panel

The System Search panel appears on the right side of the screen

Where System Search is available

Access System Search from these applications:

  • Dashboard
  • Admin Essentials
  • Studio
  • Operations Manager
  • Configuration Manager

System Search is not available in all applications. If you don’t see System Search in the menu, navigate to one of the applications listed above.

Search for resources

Find resources by name or tag.

Enter search terms

Type the resource name or tag in the search bar

View results

Matching resources appear as you type

Search tips:

  • Search matches partial names (e.g., “deploy” finds “deployment-workflow”)
  • Search includes tags assigned to resources
  • Search is case-insensitive
  • Results update automatically as you type

Understand search results

Search results appear in a table with detailed information about each resource.

Result columns

ColumnInformation
MatchResource name that matches your search
ApplicationApplication where the resource exists
TagsTags assigned to the resource
DescriptionResource description (if provided)

Navigate results

Control how results are displayed.

Sort results:

Click the Sort By button above the Description column to sort by:

  • Name (ascending or descending)
  • Application
  • Date created
  • Date modified

Change page size:

Use the pagination controls at the bottom to show more or fewer results per page.

Refresh results:

Click the Refresh button above the Match column to reload the search results.

Open a resource

Navigate directly to a resource from search results.

Locate the resource in the search results table

Click the name

Click the resource name in the Match column

View in application

The resource opens in its associated application

When you open a resource, you’ll be redirected to the application that contains it. The application opens in the same browser tab.

Search limitations

System Search only finds resources from applications that expose their data to the Search API.

What you can search

Resources exposed by these applications:

  • Studio: Workflows, transformations, forms
  • Admin Essentials: Users, roles, tags
  • Operations Manager: Job histories, schedules
  • Configuration Manager: Golden configurations, device groups
  • Lifecycle Manager: Resource models, instances

What you cannot search

System Search does not find:

  • Resources in applications that don’t expose data to the Search API
  • File contents (only searches names, tags, and descriptions)
  • Historical versions of resources
  • Deleted or archived resources
