MongoDB 8.0 partial compatibility

Itential Platform 6 uses MongoDB Node.js driver v5.9, which is partially compatible with MongoDB Server 8.0. The following MongoDB 8.0 features are not supported. This list is not exhaustive.

  • Queryable Encryption (QE) range queries: Range queries using $lt, $lte, $gt, and $gte on encrypted fields are not supported.
  • Named and multiple KMS providers: Assigning names to Key Management Service (KMS) providers and supplying multiple keys per provider are not supported.
  • Search Index type specification: Specifying the type when using the Search Index API is not supported.

For a complete list of unsupported features, see the MongoDB Server 8.0 release notes and the MongoDB Node.js driver v6.x release notes.

  • gcc is required only for installation; you can remove it after a successful install.
  • The following development packages are required to install Automation Gateway: libffi-dev, openssl-dev, python-dev, sqlite-dev.
  • Depending on the Ansible modules you use, you might also need one or more of the following packages: psutil, pycrypto, paramiko, ncclient, lxml, nitrosdk-python, jxmlease.
  • See the Ansible documentation for additional package requirements for the roles you plan to use.

Notes:

  • Before IAG 2023.1, Itential supported ansible up to version 2.10.
  • After version 2.10, Ansible changed its versioning to release both the ansible-core and ansible-community packages.
  • See the Ansible release documentation for details.

IAG compatibility with Itential Platform

Itential tests all supported versions of IAG for compatibility with supported versions of Itential Platform. However, IAG 5.1 is only compatible with Platform 6 and 2023.2. New features in a given IAG version might not be available in all Platform versions if a Platform version lacks the functionality to support them.

The following table shows IAG versions compatible with each Itential Platform version.

Itential Platform VersionIAG/2022.1IAG/2023.1IAG/2023.2IAG/2023.3IAG/4.3IAG/5.1

Platform 6.0.0YesYesYesYesYesYes
2023.2YesYesYesYesYesYes
2023.1YesYesYesYesYesNo
2022.1YesYesYesYesYesNo

If a version of Itential Platform does not provide support for a feature in a version of IAG, the versions remain compatible, but Itential Platform will not be able to use that feature in IAG.

IAG versioning practices

IAG uses version numbers to distinguish releases and help you access the correct version. IAG version names use two components:

Component version: Identifies the build version of IAG distributed in a maintenance release. Each source code change in a development build, whether a bug fix or improvement, increments the component version. Components are versioned independently of product release versions, so multiple builds can exist for a single release version.

Release version: Identifies the IAG release version made available to customers in a maintenance release. The release version increments each month as part of the maintenance release cycle.

These versioning schemes let developers identify bugs efficiently and maintain code integrity.

For more information about Itential’s versioning, contact the Product Support Team.

Cisco NSO

Support policy

Itential Platform supports integration with tested and verified NSO versions, which vary by Platform version. Itential addresses errors and flaws that affect integration of supported NSO versions. This policy covers all patch releases (the third digit in the NSO version number) for supported NSO versions.

Itential supports any NSO version that Cisco supports, including LTS versions. When Cisco releases a new NSO version, Itential works to certify support for the latest Itential Platform release. For more information about the NSO version lifecycle, see the Cisco End-of-Life and End-of-Sale Notices.

Itential is not responsible for the development or support of NSO itself.

NSO version compatibility

When integrating NSO with Itential Platform, consider long-term support (LTS) versions of NSO. For details, see NSO support policy.
