Overview

Learn how Itential Cloud releases work and how to track changes

This page describes the Itential Cloud release process and explains the resources available for tracking updates.

Itential Cloud components

Itential Cloud consists of three components:

  • Itential Platform: The core orchestration and automation platform, managed by Itential and running in the cloud
  • Cloud Hub: The management interface for your Platform cloud environments
  • Itential Automation Gateway (IAG): A customer-hosted, on-premises component that connects Itential Platform to your infrastructure

The release notes on this page cover Itential Platform and Cloud Hub only. For IAG release notes, see IAG 5 release notes or IAG 4 and earlier release notes.

Both cloud-managed components receive regular updates through a rolling release process.

Release model

Itential Cloud uses a rolling release model. Updates deploy automatically without manual intervention.

  • Continuous deployment: New releases deploy on an ongoing basis rather than on fixed schedules.
  • Automatic updates: Your environment updates automatically when a release becomes available.
  • Zero-downtime deployments: Updates apply without disrupting your running automations.

You don’t need to schedule maintenance windows or manually upgrade your Itential Cloud instance.

Track changes

Itential Cloud provides two resources to stay informed about updates:

Rolling changelog

The rolling changelog provides a continuous, chronological record of all changes, including:

  • Deployments, enhancements, and bug fixes
  • Changes to APIs, components, and functionality
  • Resolved known issues and version information

Use the changelog when you need a complete technical record or want to confirm a specific fix.

Feature announcements

Feature announcements highlight significant new capabilities, including:

  • New platform and Cloud Hub features
  • Use cases, getting started guidance, and best practices

Use feature announcements to discover capabilities that can improve your automation workflows.
