Supported NSO versions
Itential Platform supports integration with tested and verified versions of Cisco NSO. Supported versions vary by Platform release. This page describes the support policy and provides the current compatibility matrix.
Itential supports the integration of NSO into Platform. Itential is not responsible for the development or support of NSO itself.
Support policy
Itential addresses errors and flaws that affect the integration of supported NSO versions into Platform. All patch releases (the third digit in the NSO version number) for a supported NSO major.minor version are covered. For example, if NSO 6.1.x is listed as supported, any patch release of 6.1 is covered.
Supported versions for each Platform release are listed in the Devices/Services Compatibility section of the relevant release notes.
Long-term support versions
When planning an NSO integration, prefer NSO long-term support (LTS) versions. Itential aligns its support with Cisco’s NSO lifecycle — any NSO version actively supported by Cisco, including LTS releases, is a target for Itential support. Backporting
When Cisco releases a new NSO version, Itential targets certification of that version for the latest existing Platform release.
Version compatibility matrix
itential_tools package compatibility
itential_tools is the NCS package installed on the NSO server. Two package variants are available depending on your NSO version.
If you are using NSO 6.4 or later with itential-tools-nso6.4, you must use one of the following minimum Platform versions:
- Platform 6.0.3 or later
- Platform 2023.2.14 or later
- Platform 2023.1.34 or later
