Job Metrics Overview

Job Metrics Overview is the entry point into Job Metrics. From here users can browse previously-run workflows and view basic metrics. Users also can open the detailed metrics for each workflow, or open them in Automation Studio.

The main controls of the Job Metrics Overview window are referenced in the table below.

UI Label Control Description
1 Search Bar Search for a workflow by name.
2 Job Window Filter Filter workflows and their metrics by a run window in the past week, past month, or other specified time.
3 Pie Chart Metric Dropdown Choose which metric is displayed in the pie chart.
4 Column Sorting Click on a column header (Workflow, Jobs Run, Time Saved) to sort the workflow results by that column.
5 Action Icons Click the View icon (eye) to view job details. Click the Edit icon (pencil) to open the workflow in Automation Studio.
6 Pagination Used to show the total number of pages and to set how many workflows to show on a page. View additional workflow results by navigating to the next page.

Job Metric Details

The Job Metric Details dialog shows detailed metrics data for an individual workflow. From here, users can delve into more specific time savings and performance metrics for the workflow. Users can also view performance data on individual tasks within the workflow.

The main controls of the Job Metric Details dialog are referenced in the table below.

UI Label Control Description
1 Back to Overview Click to return to the Job Metrics Overview dialog.
2 Job Window Filter Filter the workflow metrics by a run window in the past week, past month, or other specified time.
3 Chart Task Type Filter the tasks displayed in the Task Breakdown chart to a certain task type (e.g., automatic or manual).
4 Chart Result Type Filter the task data displayed in the Task Breakdown chart to task runs with a given result (e.g., success, error, or failure).
5 Chart Data Type Change the y-axis data displayed in the Task Breakdown between average runtimes and total runtimes.

Setting Up Savings Metrics

In order to track metrics such as time saved and SLA target percentage, some additional input is needed for each workflow.

  1. Open Automation Studio.

  2. Open the workflow you would like to track savings metrics for.

  3. Click the View metadata option (Figure 5) from the stacked dots menu icon in the top-right. The Workflow Settings dialog opens.

  4. Set the Pre-Automation Time and SLA Per Workflow fields using the time wheel and click Save.

    Field Name Description
    Pre-Automation Time The time it would take for the workflow to perform and complete its work without the use of IAP. For example, for a router upgrade workflow, how long it would take for a technician to manually upgrade a router?
    SLA Per Workflow The maximum time the workflow should reasonably take to complete.
