Role Types

x_itent_services.admin

  • This role allows the user to have administrative rights on the Itential Automation Services Application. They have the ability to update the IAP Instance Configuration table.

x_itent_services.user

  • This role allows the user to have rights to use the Itential Automation Services Application. They will only be able to use the IAP Instances within the IAP Instance Configuration table that allow the x_itent_user role.

Note: To set up roles, you must be assigned as an admin. Only admins hold the permssions required to set roles in the ServiceNow application.

Assigning Application Admin Role

To assign the Admin Application role in the Itential Automation Services ServiceNow application:

  1. Click the All tab option.
  2. Type “Users” in the filter query and select the Users option from the System Security drop-down.
  3. Type the name of the user you want to add in the User ID field and press Enter.

  1. Click the credentials of the user you want to add from what populates under User ID.

  1. Navigate to the options located under the User Field and click the Roles tab.

  2. Click Edit located to the right of the Roles tab.

  1. Type “x_itent_services.admin” under Collection and click the role from the results that populate.

  2. Click the Save icon to set the permission.

  1. Click the Update option to the right of the User bar to apply the role.

Assigning Application User Role

To assign the User Application role in the Itential Automation Services ServiceNow application, follow the same steps as listed above.

  1. Click the All tab option.

  2. Type “Users” in the filter query and select the Users option from the System Security drop-down.

  3. Type the name of the user you want to add in the User ID field and select Enter (Refer to Figure 1 listed above).

  4. Click the credentials of the user you want to add from what populates under User ID.

  2. Click Edit located to the right of the Roles tab.
