The following breaking change affects Adapter NSO in the 2022.1 release version of Itential Automation Platform (IAP).

New Default Value for 'remediationUseItentialTools'

When Golden Configuration performs remediation on an NSO device, it uses one of the following approaches:

  • Invoking the load-native-config action from NSO on the device.
  • Invoking the set_config_transactions method from Itential Tools on the device.

Which approach is used depends on the value of the remediationUseItentialTools property in Adapter NSO as referenced in the following table.

Property Value Remediation Approach
True Use the set_config_transactions Itential Tools method.
False Use the load-native-config NSO action.

➤ Prior to IAP version 2022.1, the default value was False.

➤ Starting in IAP version 2022.1, the default value was changed to True.

What Should I Do?

Ensure the value of remediationUseItentialTools is set according to the requirements of your organization. This value can be changed by editing Adapter NSO properties in Admin Essentials.

Note:

The remediationUseItentialTools property is only visible when you enable the Advanced View of Adapter NSO.
