Since most adapters are opensourced, there is information available to the opensource community and the public how to contribute new adapters or updates to existing adapters. This information is located in GitLab under the Itential Opensource Project and the adapter sub-group.
The Adapter Utils are opensource and it is possible to contribute to it. Because the Utils are utilized by most adapters, all modifications are subject to review and regression testing.
- If you find a bug in the Adapter Utils:
- Create a ticket (ISD, IPSO or ADAPT).
- You can work the ticket or allow the Itential Adapter Team to fix the bug.

It is always good for generic changes to the adapter to be contributed back so that when other changes are made to the adapter in the future the updated copy can be deployed into your environment with little to no impact.
