# Navigate Configuration Manager

> Access Configuration Manager and understand its interface.

Access and navigate Configuration Manager through the Itential Platform interface.

## Open Configuration Manager

To access Configuration Manager:

#### Open Platform dashboard

Log in to Itential Platform.

#### Navigate to Configuration Manager

Select **Configuration Manager** from the Design collection in the left navigation menu.

Configuration Manager opens in your active browser tab.

## Understand the interface

Configuration Manager organizes content into seven main views:

| View                               | Purpose                                         |
| ---------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------- |
| Devices                            | View and manage individual network devices      |
| Device Groups                      | Organize devices into logical collections       |
| Device Backups                     | Access configuration backup history             |
| Configuration Parsers (Enterprise) | Define parsing rules for configuration syntax   |
| Template Designer (Enterprise)     | Build dynamic configuration templates           |
| Golden Configurations (Enterprise) | Create and manage baseline configurations       |
| Compliance Plans (Enterprise)      | Schedule and review automated compliance checks |

### Toolbar actions

The toolbar at the top of Configuration Manager provides quick access to common tasks:

* **Create (+)**: Create a new configuration, device group, or parser.
* **Search (🔍)**: Open the Collection modal to search across device collections.
* **Home (🏠)**: Return to the Configuration Manager home page.
* **Documentation (📖)**: Open the Itential product documentation site.
* **About (☰)**: View the release version running in your environment.

### Home page features

The home page includes:

* **Pinned items**: Elements you've pinned from any page in Configuration Manager, using the pin icon next to each item.
* **Quick Start card**: Search a device collection using filter settings, or create a new collection.
* **Recent activity**: View recent configuration operations.
