# Reserved method output name

> Breaking change notice that the method output name "error" is now reserved by Itential Platform in 2023.2, preventing affected applications and adapters from starting.

## Breaking change notice

This breaking change applies to the 2023.2 Itential Platform release.

Itential now reserves the method output name `error` for internal use. For any method output named `error`, a log message is shown at startup and the application or adapter does not start.

## What should I do?

Rename any method output called `error` in your custom applications or adapters to a different name.
