# Troubleshoot network connectivity

> How to troubleshoot network connection issues between Itential Platform and its dependencies.

#### Verify profiles and service configs

Verify your profiles or `service_configs` are configured correctly, including:

* Host name (of the endpoint)
* Port number
* User credentials

#### Verify properties configuration

Verify your properties are configured correctly and that there are no network issues between Itential Platform and other dependencies or endpoints.

#### Test basic connectivity with telnet

Use `telnet` to perform a basic connectivity test. For example, to test connectivity from the Itential Platform server to the MongoDB server (using the default port 27017):

telnet mongo-server-hostname 27017
telnet redis-server-hostname 6379
telnet redis-sentinels-hostname 26379
telnet rabbit-server-hostname 5672
```

Check `properties.json` for the appropriate hostname and port number. If a port is blocked by a firewall, the network engineering team will need to enable it.

#### Verify ports are listening

lsof -Pi |grep LISTEN
```
