# Remove a device

> Steps to remove a device using the Gateway API.

#### Go to the Devices family

Go to the **Devices** family in the left navigation menu to see the device added in the previous example.

#### Select the DELETE endpoint

Go to the API Documentation and select `DELETE /devices/{device_name}`.

#### Click Try it out!

Click **Try it out!**.

#### Enter the device name

Enter the name of the device to be removed.

#### Click Execute

Click **Execute**.
