We are excited to announce that Itential Automation Service has been updated with bug fixes and usability improvements. On this page, we walk you through the important features and changes we've made.
Fix issues resulting in early session expiration
Fixed an issue whereby users, logged in to the Automation Service UI, were experiencing errors while using the UI due to session tokens expiring prematurely.
Ensure all gateway services are discovered
Fixed an issue whereby the Automation Service was not consistently discovering all services reported by a connected gateway.
Ensure gateway connection state is up-to-date
Fixed an issue whereby the Automation Service sometimes believed it had lost its connection to a gateway. The result of the issue was that users got messages about Max Connection
failures when trying to run automations despite the gateway being connected.
Fix issues related to table filters in the Activities page
Fixed an issue in the Activities page whereby using filters in the different tab views sometimes resulted in columns losing their values.

We are excited to announce that Itential Automation Service has been updated with bug fixes and usability improvements. On this page, we walk you through the important features and changes we've made.
Reduce the chance of failed automations
If a gateway is offline when a user or a schedule tries to execute an automation, the execution does not take place. This ensures that only automations that can reach the gateway are started.
Simplify the process of selecting gateway certificates
When adding certificates to a new or existing gateway, the Automation Service will now only list end-point certificates. If you have previously also selected intermediate or root certificates, you do not have to remove them; they will have no effect on a gateway's ability to connect to the service.
Easily identify a certificate's type
Users tell, at a glance, whether a certificate is a self-signed, intermediate, or root certificate in the Automation → Gateways certificate list using these icons for identification:
This certificate is either an intermediate or root certificate.
This certificate is either an end-point or self-signed end-point certificate.
Users can re-run past automations more easily
Users can now go to the Completed automations tab in the Automation → Activities page to launch a new automation run from any completed automation using one of these options:
- Run New: This brings up a new automation run page with the automation pre-selected.
- Run a Copy: This brings up a new automation run page with the automation pre-selected and a copy of the Automation Parameters from the completed automation.
Using the Run a Copy option makes it easy to run the same automation repeatedly and only change the parameters that need changing - without having to type in the ones that remain the same.
Users can get the details of a completed automation from the Operations page
Users in the Automation → Operations page can now click on a completed automation and be taken to the details page for that automation.
Improved the suggestions experience on Quick Run
The Quick Run suggestion box on the Automation → Operations page now displays a scroll bar when the number of suggestions is more than a few items.
Fixed an issue that prevented scheduled automations from always running on time
Implemented a bug fix for situations where schedule automations were not consistently being started if the schedule was updated by a user.
