Prerequisites
You will need the following to complete this guide:
- Complete steps 1 - 4 in the Getting Started guide
- Be logged in to Itential Cloud
1. Run an automation manually
Now that automation services have been created in IAG5, they will automatically appear in your Automation Service account. We're going to use the Automation Service to run the automation from Itential Cloud by following these steps:
- Log in to your Automation Service account
- Go to the Automations page on the left side menu
- You will see an automation with the name
my-python-service
listed - Click the automation and when the form opens, click Run
- You will see a notification that the automation was started
- Go to the Activities page on the left side menu and select the Completed tab
- You should see completed automation there
- Click the completed automation and you will see the output
Congratulations, you have just run your first automation using the Itential Automation Service!
2. Schedule an automation
- Go to the Automations page on the left side menu
- You will see an automation with the name

listed - Click the automation and when the form opens, toggle on the "Enable Schedule" option
- Use the scheduling interface to:
- Select a date and time for the automation to run
- Optionally, you can toggle the "Use Recurrence" option to set a recurring schedule, so the automation runs multiple times on a defined schedule
- Click Schedule
Congratulations, you have just scheduled your first automation using the Itential Automation Service!
