Before we dive into Lifecycle Manager, let’s look at the Cisco IOS device that we will use for our service.
Configuration Manager Video
Step 1
From the IAP Dashboard, select Configuration Manager.
Step 2
From the Devices dropdown in the left navigation panel, select the IOS device.
Step 3
Notice the device is online. When selected, IAP will run a quick test to ensure the device is reachable. Click Load Configuration.
Step 4
Configuration Manager will perform an API call to the IOS device and grab the configuration of the device.
Step 5
Next, we will take a backup of our device configuration. We will reference this backup later in the training after we have setup Lifecycle Manager and provisioned some changes against the device. To create a device backup, click the + in the Device Details section.
Step 6
For the backup Description, enter Lab – LCM Port VLAN - XX. For the Notes, enter Pre lab backup. Click Create.
Step 7
The backup is created and now appears on the Backups tab.
