Insights is currently in beta. Share your feedback with your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to help us improve.
The Summary Dashboard provides high-level analytics about your platform health, workflow usage, and automation ROI. The dashboard is designed primarily for executives and stakeholders who need to understand overall automation performance and value.
Find answers to key questions:
- How is platform usage growing? (Jobs run trends)
- What value are we getting from automation? (Time saved metrics)
- Which teams are using automation most effectively? (Project distribution)
- When do automated operations typically run? (Execution patterns)
- Which workflows are highest priority? (Workflow highlights)
The Summary Dashboard focuses exclusively on root jobs - the complete business operations that matter to stakeholders. Child jobs (technical implementation details) are filtered out, giving you clean, business-focused metrics.
For example, a "Provision New Customer" workflow might spawn 20 internal child jobs, but the Summary Dashboard shows just one operation: whether the customer got provisioned successfully.
Overview
The Summary Dashboard is organized into sections:
- Global Filters (top): Control environment, time range, and project scope
- Jobs by Projects: Workflow distribution across projects
- At-a-Glance Metrics: Four key metrics with trend indicators
- Workflow Highlights: Dynamic table of workflows filtered by various criteria
- Root Job Execution Trends: Stacked bar chart showing job volume over time by workflow
- Daily Root Job Activity: Heatmap showing job executions by day and hour
For more information on the four At-a-Glance metrics, see At-a-Glance metrics.
Typical workflow
A typical Summary Dashboard workflow might look like:
- Set context using global filters (environment, time range, project)
- Check at-a-glance metrics for overall Platform health
- Review trend indicators to identify improving or declining metrics
- Examine project distribution to understand automation adoption patterns
- Explore workflow highlights to identify high-value or problematic workflows
- Analyze execution trends to spot usage patterns or anomalies
- Review execution patterns to optimize scheduling or resource allocation
- Use Job Viewer for detailed troubleshooting of specific jobs as needed
At-a-Glance Metrics
The Summary Dashboard displays at-a-glance metrics filtered to root jobs only. See At-a-glance metrics for detailed explanations of each metric.
Execution Patterns
The Execution Patterns section provides a dynamic, filterable table of workflows with key performance metrics. This table helps you quickly identify high-value workflows and those needing attention.
Workflow Highlights
The workflow highlights table helps you:
- Identify which workflows have the highest business impact (by volume or time saved)
- Find workflows missing pre-automation time configuration
- Spot workflows with performance or reliability issues
- Prioritize which workflows to investigate or optimize
- Access detailed analytics for specific workflows
Table structure
| Column | Description | Filter options |

| Jobs Run Delta | Percentage change in the number of root jobs run compared to previous period | "is less than" OR "is greater than" X |
| Completion Rate | Percentage of root jobs that completed versus those that were canceled | "is less than" OR "is greater than" X |
| Completed | Total number of root jobs that completed in the selected time period | "is less than" OR "is greater than" X |
| Completed Delta | Percentage change in the number of root jobs that completed compared to previous period | "is less than" OR "is greater than" X |
| P50 Runtime | Median (typical) runtime of root jobs executed for this workflow | "shorter than" OR "longer than" DD:HH:MM:SS |
| Pre-automation Time | Estimated time required to perform the workflow’s tasks manually (clickable link to configure value in Studio) | "shorter than" OR "longer than" DD:HH:MM:SS |
| Time Saved | Cumulative manual effort avoided through automation | "shorter than" OR "longer than" DD:HH:MM:SS |
Sort and filter
Sort: Click any column header to sort (ascending → descending → default). By default, the table shows workflows sorted by Most Jobs Run (highest volume first).
Combine filters: Apply multiple simultaneously. Example: "Jobs Run > 100 AND Cancelation Rate > 10%"
Key metrics
The Key Metrics section provides two visualizations that help you understand execution patterns and volume trends. These charts show when and how frequently your workflows run.
Key benefits
- Identify usage patterns and execution volume trends
- Spot anomalies like unexpected spikes or drops in activity
- Understand when jobs typically execute throughout the week
- Determine which workflows drive the most platform activity
- Plan maintenance windows and resource allocation
- Optimize scheduling for better performance
Root Job Execution Trends
The Root Job Execution Trends chart is a stacked bar chart showing job volume over time, broken down by workflow.
What it shows:
- X-axis: Time periods (granularity adjusts based on your selected time range)
- Y-axis: Number of root jobs executed
- Color-coded segments: Each color represents a different workflow
- Bar height: Total job volume for that time period
Time granularity:
The chart automatically adjusts time bucket granularity based on your selected time range:
| Time Range Selected | Chart Granularity |
|---|---|
| Last 7 days | Daily |
| Last 30 days | Daily |
| Last 3 months | Weekly |
| Last 6 months | Weekly |
Customize your view
Top workflows dropdown Select how many workflows to display:
- Top 5 workflows (shows 5 highest-volume workflows) - Default
- Top 10 workflows
- Top 15 workflows
The chart displays your selected number of workflows by job volume, with remaining workflows grouped together.
Toggle the Show remaining X workflows option to include or exclude all other workflows not in your top N selection.
Interpreting the chart
Identify high-volume workflows: Look for workflows that occupy large portions of the bars consistently. These are your most frequently executed workflows and likely have high business impact.
Spot usage patterns:
- Consistent volume: Steady bar heights indicate stable, predictable usage
- Growing volume: Increasing bar heights show growing automation adoption
- Declining volume: Decreasing bar heights may indicate reduced usage or seasonal changes
Catch anomalies:
- Sudden spikes: Unusually tall bars may indicate unexpected workload increases or testing activity
- Sudden drops: Missing or very short bars may signal workflow failures, disabled schedules, or system issues
Daily Root Job Activity
The Daily Root Job Activity visualization is a heatmap showing root job executions by day and hour. Darker colors indicate more jobs.
What it shows:
- X-axis: Days of the week (Monday-Sunday)
- Y-axis: Hours of the day
- Color intensity: Darker colors indicate more job executions during that day/hour combination
- Each cell: Represents the number of jobs that executed during a specific day and hour
Common patterns to look for
Business hours automation:
- Dark cells during standard work hours (e.g., 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday-Friday)
- Light cells during nights and weekends
- Indicates manual trigger patterns or business-hours scheduling
24/7 operations:
- Consistent color intensity across all hours and days
- Indicates always-on automation, scheduled workflows, or API-triggered operations
- Common for infrastructure monitoring, data processing, or integration workflows
Scheduled batch processing:
- Dark vertical bands at specific hours across multiple days
- Indicates scheduled workflows (e.g., nightly reports at 2 AM, daily backups at midnight)
- Useful for identifying maintenance window opportunities
Peak usage times:
- Cells with notably darker colors compared to surrounding cells
- Indicates when your team relies on automation most heavily
- Important for capacity planning and performance optimization
