How to Use Workspaces to View Automation Status
To check the status of automations that you or your team started or ones that were started from a schedule, there are three workspaces to view:
- Operations
- Activities
- Gateways
Each of these workspaces provides similar information, but automatically limits what automations are visible based on user and gateway information. If unsure which view is the right one, start with the Activities Workspace, which shows all automations across all gateways and users. Use filters to help find what is being looked for.
Automations in the Operations Workspace
In the Operations Workspace, everything is filtered based on the user: only running and completed automations that you started (across all gateways) are shown. This is helpful if you want to view and check the automations you created.
Automations in the Gateways Workspace
In the Gateways Workspace, everything is filtered based on a single gateway that you select: only running, completed, and scheduled automations that come from that gateway are shown. This is helpful for tracking down issues on a specific gateway.
Automations in the Activities Workspace
In the Activities Workspace, you can see everything: automations across all users and all gateways that you have access to are shown. This is great if you want to see the overall health of the platform, and is helpful for team leaders to see an overview of how successful their teams are at running successful automations.
How to View Details for Completed Automations
Completed Automations include a record of all of the output and error information returned from the automation run. Most of the time you are only interested in whether or not an automation completed successfully, but sometimes you need to dig a little deeper, or give access to someone else to dig deeper. This is when you need to see the details of a completed automation.
You can get to the details of a completed automation from any workspace that includes them, which includes:
- Operations
- Gateways
- Activities
From the Activities workspace, clicked the stacked dots (⋮) menu icon at the end of the table row to see additional options.
Select the View Details option under the stacked dots menu to get a detailed view of the Output and Error Log for the completed automation.
