Step 1
Navigate to Operations Manager.
Step 2
Let’s create an automation. Click the + button at the top of the left navigation panel.
Step 3
Name the automation Lab - Create A Record - Infoblox – [Your Initials] and click Create.
Step 4
Click the Workflow dropdown and select the Lab – Create a Record –Infoblox – [Your Initials] Workflow.
Step 5
Next we need to create a trigger. Click the + below Triggers to create a new one.
Step 6
Name the Trigger Manual and select Manual for the type .
Step 7
From the form drop-down list choose Lab – Create a Record – Infoblox Form – [Your Initials].
Save the trigger.
Step 8
We are ready to run the automation. Click the Run Manually button.
Step 9
Next we need to complete the form and click Run Manually.
Step 10
The workflow runs as expected and has completed successfully. We know this by the green checkmarks on the individual tasks and in Job Details, we see each task has a status of Completed.
Step 11
If we run it again with the same information, we will get a different result. Complete the form and then click Run Manually.
Step 12
This time when it runs, it takes the failure path at the first evaluation task because the DNS record already exists. If we look in the Job Details, we can see the workflow has paused waiting for user input. Click Start Auto-Work.
Step 13
Here you can see the error causing the workflow to take the failure path.
Step 14
The automation can be ended by clicking the End Automation button.
