The following topics demonstrate how to set up Itential Automation Gateway (IAG) for network automation. These procedures will guide you through:

  • Installing and configuring your gateway client and server
  • Generating security certificates to support secure communication between your gateway and the Itential Platform
  • Creating a gateway cluster and connecting it to the Itential Platform
  • Creating and running a simple automation service

You can choose to set up your IAG environment through a containerized deployment or binary installation using either RPM or DEB installer packages. Follow the getting started procedures that best align with your preferred installation method.

Note

The topics in this guide focus on IAG 5, but you can download IAG 4 or IAG 5 from the Itential software repository.

All IAG 4 and IAG 5 packages are compatible with Itential Platform. Download the packages appropriate to your architecture. For more information, see IAG Compatibility with Itential Platform.

To learn more about the differences between IAG 4 and IAG 5, see [What’s New in IAG 5](What's New in IAG 5 ).
