# Validate a transformation

POST https://example.itential.io/transformations/validate
Content-Type: application/json

Validates an entire transformation without saving it. Covers the same checks that create and import perform, and also finds issues that pass those checks but cause errors downstream, such as missing or duplicate function names, duplicate incoming or outgoing schema IDs, function objects missing their own functions array, and excessively nested function trees. Returns every validation issue found rather than stopping at the first one.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (basic auth, required) — Basic authentication of the form `Basic <base64(username:password)>`.

Validation result: \{ isValid, errors, warnings }

- `isValid` (boolean, optional) — Whether the transformation passed every deep-validation check.
- `errors` (list of TransformationsValidatePostResponsesContentApplicationJsonSchemaErrorsItems, optional) — Errors found, each shaped \{ code, message, path }. Empty when isValid is true.
- `warnings` (list of TransformationsValidatePostResponsesContentApplicationJsonSchemaWarningsItems, optional) — Non-blocking issues found, each shaped \{ code, message, path }.
