# Delete a certificate by ID

DELETE https://example.itential.io/gateway_manager/v1/certificates/{id}

Deletes a particular certificate from the certificate store.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (basic auth, required) — Basic authentication of the form `Basic <base64(username:password)>`.

### Path parameters

- `id` (string, required) — Id of certificate (MongoDB ObjectId as string)

Information about the certificate that was just deleted

- `contract_id` (string, optional) — The name of the certificate
