#### When to use

* An adapter already exists for your system
* Standard functionality is sufficient

### Custom adapters

#### Requirements

One of the following:

* OpenAPI 2.0/3.0 specification
* Postman Collection v2.1
* WSDL (convert to OpenAPI first)

Use [Adapter Builder](https://adapters.itential.io/) to generate the adapter. Build time is typically 15–45 minutes depending on API complexity.

* **Custom:** Upload your API spec to [Adapter Builder](https://adapters.itential.io/).

#### Install

Deploy the adapter to Itential Platform. See the [installation guide](/adapters/get/install).

#### Configure
